what would you choose for a pure football answer only, take out the money and all of the texas being the boss?
If you make all money even and make Texas like all the other teams, then I say yes and still go to the Big 10... It will benefit the University of Nebraska as a whole much more than the Big 12 ever will.

However... since you said for a "pure football answer only" then I say we stay in the Big 12.

People seem to be missing the stated point of the poll...

The answer is supposed to be based on football only, with the money and Texas issues removed. That means the rest of the university doesn't factor into the equation. In that case, we should (and would) have stayed in the Big XII.

Forget the money if Texas didn't have the ability to hold the entire confrence hostage, the big 12 would be great. If Texas wasn't the boss I say stay.

If we weren't better off financially and wouldn't have Texas running the conference I would rather stay in the Big 12. We have a lot of tradition in the Big 12 so I would rather stay there even though I think we will fit in well with the Big Ten.

honestly don't care...we have tradition with the big 12 what??? north???

plus, the big 10 we get to do something new...play a new gambit of teams...

I would still say we jump to the Big 10. Statistically speaking, the Big 10 and the Big 12 are essentially equal (going back to 1996). Both conferences have similar number of Top 5, Top 15 and Top 25 finishes. Neither conference is stronger than the other. Both have had their down years and up years. However, the Big 10 is stacked full of tradition. Our style of play is better suited to the Big 10, IMO. Not to mention, I think the exposure would be greater playing in the Big 10 than in the Big 12.

Big XII was probably a consistently easier road to a shot at the conference championship and thus a BCS game. And as others mentioned, we had history with teams in the Big XII. Staying would have been the correct choice according to the poll's conditions. And given those conditions, there's absolutely no way we leave the Big XII. Even disregarding the other reasons to stay, there wouldn't be any reason to leave, so we wouldn't.

Yes. In my opinion we would have MORE quality conference opponents, but really the biggest reason to mve is the benefits on the academic side. So it would still be worth it.

A conference that already has three of the top seven schools in football history, with the tradition and pageantry that entails, vs. a conference wholly built around convenience and expedience.

That's a no-brainer. The Big 10, every day of the week.

Yup, Big 10+ BABY makes 12 :bonez

For Texass on the hole even prepH wood help, a boat load. Where's TuffTiger when ya need him/her/it.

GBR
