what you will/won't miss

I have been trying all season to explain to my younger brother that there is just SOMETHING that drives me nuts about Ganz...Sure, he makes critical plays on 3rd down, he completed 70% of his passes, he scrambled well at times, was extremely tough, the team loved him and he was a leader, etc..etc..

finally I was talking to my older brother about it after the game yesterday and he finally nailed it for me:

Ganz makes a lot of those plays look very difficult and he always has me on the edge of my seat screaming, "No, no, no...yes, yes, yes!!" because he is just NOT QUITE good enough to continually make great plays look easy. He takes a difficult situation and and somehow gets something out of it, but cannot dominate a game and just routinely make difficult plays without a few boneheaded mistakes.

I will miss him and what he stood for as a backup turned winner, and I think he was more important overall as a glue for program than even Z. Taylor was; but I am ready for a big, dominate QB who makes things happen without giving me a heart attack.

I'll miss:

1. his toughness

2. his mobility

3. his throwing ability

4. his leadership and knowledge of the offense

I won't miss:

1. his inability to throw the ball away sometimes

2. his ability to possibly throw 1 int a game

3. his inability to not slide thus causing me further stress that he may get hurt

I thank Joe for what he did for Husker fans everywhere and wish he would've started the entire season instead of Sam Keller.

ill miss......

1. his leadership

2. his playmaking

3. his 2 main receivers

4. his determination

5. his underratedness by the media

6. his stats

7. the career he could've had, if he were a starter the entire 07 season

i wont miss......

1. the near heart attacks he's given me over the last few months

the GANZINATOR will be tough to replace!!

Kid is ballsy and tough. Love him. Not the best QB in the Big 12 by a long shot, but a great kid who helped bring improvements at Nebraska. Great guy to have on a team. I did thnk his decision making was a little off at times with pressing, but it was part of his personality. He is not the type to take losing lying down or leave the work to someone else.

I cant fault his decision making. it improved greatly, and if he doesnt press some his completion % is way down. lets face it, when he pressed it he completed the passes more often than not. if we are going to put the balll in the air as much as we did we are going to have some ints

:yeah hell, booger boy had more INTs than Ganz this season.

What I will miss:

1. His command of the offense

2. His leadership

3. His knowledge

4. The many man crushes that grown men in the Husker Nation have on him

5. The ability to find Swift or Peterson when a play breaks down

6. His bobblehead running style

7. His witty banter at the Press Conferences

8. His sideburns

What I won’t miss:

1. His running of the option

2. His occasional lapse <_< in decision making

3. That fact that as a result of “What I will miss #4” he can do no wrong in some folks eyes and got a pass by these people even when a pass was not deserved.4. Getting Player of the Game even if he didn’t deserve it (not just him it happens with most games and the winning QB)

The “what I will” far out weigh the “what I won’t”. This kid was a gamer and he will be missed, as will a lot of the senior class.
:yeah
