What's your favorite brew?

I know we've covered this topic before, but it was awhile ago...and we've gotten some additions to the board since. So let's hear it, what quenches your thirst?

One of mine is Boulevard Wheat

Wheat's a classic, easy going beer if you're in the KC/midwest area and looking for something local. Although my favorite from Boulevard is by far their seasonal Irish Ale. I'll stock up every season when it comes out.

I'm a Guinness man at heart. Unfortunately I haven't been able to afford it as much, so I've been resorting to the cheap domestics. But back in the day I'd down 7 or 8, 20oz Guinness' on a Friday night at the pub down the street.

Then a few of my faves after that:

Konig Ludwig...great Bavarian brew

Chimay...and several other trappist ales

Boddingtons

If you're in KC, look to try 75th Street's Fountain City Irish Red.

Also, if you go to Gordon Biersch they make some pretty decent beers. I tried it for the first time last week. I liked their Hefeweizen and Schwarzbier (their dark lager)

When I lived in Texas I used to love Shiner Bock. I love the Sam's seasonals. Brooklyn Lager is always good. Boddington is ok also. I am basically a big fan of most beers with decent flavor, I just don't like light beers.

A few of mine............

Blvd Wheat

Blue Moon

Fat Tire Sunshine

and if I'm feeling cheap

Miller Lite

Miller Lite
unfortunately that's been me for the past few months. With football season brings drinking more beer...and with this economy I've decided to save and drink Miller Light. Can't beat a 6 pack of 16oz for $5.80! And I think it tastes better than Bud Light.

I also have to give props to Sam Adams for branching out and making new beers. Since their "respect your brew" campaign even Budweiser has decided to branch out with their American Ale (which isn't terrible actually)

Duchesse de Bourgogne

My favorite, a sour red flemish ale. I've only seen it at two places in Omaha, Beetopia and Dario's Brassiere.

St. Bernardus ABT 12

A close second. Becoming much more available locally (check your HyVee), also on tap at Dario's. Regarded by many as one of the best beers in the world, it weighs in with an ABV of 10.5%.

Not a fan of beer. I'll stick with whiskey. JD is my fav.
again, financial woes prevent me from going with whiskey (or whisky).

but I do love me some Seagrams VO...we opted to buy some cheap $6 whiskey the other night just to have a change of pace, and after trying it straight up, I'll never skimp on whiskey again

I've never seen those, but they sound good. Especially the Belgian.

Anyone here make their own beer? I'm thinking for Christmas about asking for a gift certificate to a local brewer's store.
