Where are we at with Riley mid-season?

How long would you give Riley?

I said 2-3 years. Preferably 2 years. Need to see some continued improvement next year with at least 8 wins IMO. If Riley would only win 7 or less next year (especially with the amount of talent coming back next year) I would probably want him to be fired. But that's just me...

Go Riley! Don't get fired! Yay!

Same as I was before we hired him.

Coaches are like seasons. 50 degrees in the fall and people act like they'll freeze to death. 50 degrees in the spring and it's time to break out the shorts.

Wow. 71 votes cast! Thanks for the participation!

(Edit: nearly a hundred)

And with that relatively large sample size we have a landslide for giving Riley 2-3 years. (48%).

(Edit: 68%)

I think this shows that despite all of our frustration and crying over being 2-4 last week, the naysayers still think he deserves more than one season, and the sunshine pumpers have pumped the brakes and pulled in the leash a little.

In a way, adversity has brought us together?

Kum-bye-ya, m@therf@thers!

As long as he shows continuous progress each year, he'll be fine. Win more each year than he did the year prior. I guess he's setting the bar low this year. :-)

As far as Bo is concerned, it wasn't the 9-4 records that bothered me, it was the embarrassing fashion in which many of our losses occurred.

I can't believe some people actually said to wait 6-7 seasons. Damn, I wish my boss would wait 6-7 years before assessing my effectiveness... and I'm not making 1.7-mil per year either.
2.7, we gave hi a fat raise to come to Nebraska

Look--if we don't make a bowl, it will be because Langsdorf didn't bother to learn his lessons from the Wisky and Minny games (read: run the f*****g ball). Banker's secondary is a dumpster fire, and either a new position coach, or a new DC completely, is in order, but if Langsdorf can curtail his hubris and call games the right way, he can compensate for Banker's failures on defense.

But no bowl game? I wouldn't be shocked to see that Riley is asked to replace one or both coordinators, and if he says 'no', it's gonna feel like deja vu...
