Where are we at with Riley mid-season?

How long would you give Riley?

I think it will take 2-3 years for MR to get where Bo was when he left. By that time we will be very happy to be 9-4 every year.

If there were ever a point at which I'd be happy to see Nebraska finish 9-4, I wouldn't have been so happy to see Bo get fired after another 9-win season.

Like Kernal said, at no point will 9-4 every year mean anything to me.

I chose "after 2-3 years" -- if we haven't shown DRASTIC improvement next year I think his seat will be white-hot, but he'll still be given a 3rd year to see what POB can do. If we still aren't performing up to par after Year 3 he should be gone.

As far as this season goes, he could go winless for the rest of this year and I have no doubt that he'll be given another season, so it really makes no difference -- this season is a wash regardless.

Im surprised at your answer, I thought you would want him gone end of season.

I'm sure a stand-up honorable decent nice guy like Riley will resign if he doesn't turn the team around by the end of next year.

Ok, 30 minutes to game time and more votes in. Now about 25% of votes want Riley gone this year. This is more what I was expecting to see.

He needs time to implement his system. While firing him after one season seems extreme, I remember something that Osborne said when announcing Callahan's firing. Osborne said that in all his time at NU, felt that he would not survive a losing season.

As long as he shows continuous progress each year, he'll be fine. Win more each year than he did the year prior. I guess he's setting the bar low this year. :-)

As far as Bo is concerned, it wasn't the 9-4 records that bothered me, it was the embarrassing fashion in which many of our losses occurred.

I can't believe some people actually said to wait 6-7 seasons. Damn, I wish my boss would wait 6-7 years before assessing my effectiveness... and I'm not making 1.7-mil per year either.

Gotta say, I'm kinda surprised to see some of the 2-3 year votes coming from certain posters.

Everybody wants to see the man succeed. Clean up the time of possession and play calling and the secondary. Don't agree with need time to get his system in. We have players that can win know. After next year if change needs to be made do it.

id like to see some staff changes at the end of the season, Read Stewart Langsdorf and Banker have failed.
They all did well today, you might want to reassess.

Langsdorf did well, but not sure how anyone can defend giving up over 300 yards to Leidner.....oh wait....it's RADAR
