Where to park?

When I went to the Maine game, we parket behind some frat house. They packed us in like sardines, and was almost an hour after the game before we could get out... and worst of all it cost $15 to park there.

Any suggestions on where to park?. I don't mind paying $10-$15 to park, if I can get out after the game, and it's close.

I'd park just south of 'O' Street, but it depends on what time you go to the game. If you're an early bird, and like to hit the restaurants, shops, and bars hours before, you should find something closer. Wait until 2 hours before kickoff, and you'll probably be down around K street. The advantage to this is grabbing a drink on O to 'break up the long walk' to your car after the game ;) The disadvantage is the metered parking. Most meters only go up to 2 hours, which wouldn't work. Lincoln really needs to suspend meters during games, but I'm sure Grandma Mayor buys presents for the grandkids with all the fines she collects on football Saturdays, so that will never happen.

It seems like there are ALOT of $10 parking all around the stadium, if you get down there at a decent time. I've just never justified paying that much when I park for free, and use the extra $$$ on a couple of cold ones after the game. :wasted

We usually park at around 16th and O and mosey down toward the stadium stopping at various watering holes. We will probably do the same this weekend, except go to the tailgate instead. Getting out of town from there is as bad as it probably is parking near the stadium. The particular garage we park in is $5.

I park at that Indian place over by Devany Center (west of). Its only 5 bucks. But latley i have been parking east of the stadium over by the tennis center, across from Pound Hall dorms. Its 10 bucks there, and you get to walk across the nice campus too.

The parking garage by Harper Schram Smith just northeast of the stadium is ten bucks, close and is easy to get out of. That is where my parents always park when they come in for games. The only downside is no alcohol permitted, so there really isnt any tailgating.

There are plenty of people offering spots on the streets north of the stadium right after the overpass. Most of them are in between $5-10.

I find this humorous that people complain to pay 10 for parking---I live in Tn and pay 15-20 to parkand still have to walk quite a ways---anything closer starts at 25.00. Thats why Nebraska RULES!!!!
