wheres lucky

Glenn's the kind of back that will carry a guy or two with him, as we saw on Saturday. Lucky played a handful of plays, probably around 10. I remember at least two carries. He was also rotating in for Ross in the 4th quarter and did just fine. I'm not sure what his final stats are, but I'm thinking he's the guy we'll use in the future on 1st and 2nd downs and probably on most of the pass plays with Glenn coming in to pound the ball ahead in short yardage.

If Glenn's gonna be that kind of back he needs to run straight instead of looking for holes like in high school.

I thought that Lucky had a great run on saturday. Glenn ran for some tough yards too. The running back play was solid, however Brandon Jackson seems to be the odd man out.

now that I see jackson's name I realize he didn't get a carry in this game...he handled the ball a lot last season and was effective, much different this year so far.

could be the shoulder injury was more serious than originally thought - could have set him back awhile as far as chemistry goes - just a guess

:cheers

Lucky was an ankle tackle away from breaking that one, if I remember right. I saw him get into the secondary and I thought "This is his thing! Do it!"

Jackson had 1 carry for 4 yards. But yes, I agree, he was used quite a bit more last season.

Wrong...that is not true...because if he does that...he wont get anything...for example...inside the 5 in the game against Tech...when he ran straight...he met nothing but a big pile because line didnt get their blocking. Then next carry, does a little bounce out...and scores.

I've read it many times on here that they line isnt doing good enough for the backs they are blocking for...so in my opinion...he should run like he always has...looking for holes..and when he gets there...if you're in his way...you go down, or with him. :thumbs

But yes...he can run straight and still get what is needed.

I still think the coaches are being a little cautious with Brandon Jackson. They might be throwing him into certain plays to make sure they keep his feet wet in case of injuries. We already saw 2 linebackers go down this season and 1 OT, so it's not far fetched that we might have some inuries in the running back department later down the line instead of having someone come in with cold feet and not produce anything.

It's a good strategy. You keep your backup healthy and fresh, while providing some experience for the younger guys (Glenn, Lucky). We don't want this team to go through an inexperience process like Oklahoma is going through now by not playing it's backups last year even after OU was leading by a a good margin in the games. Look how it's effecting them now
