First off...GO BIG RED! Don't take this wrong...this is...how do you say it......a question of curiousity. I'm behind BC 100% but I'm not always going to agree with his play calling but I'm still behind him.

Anyways,

Why doesn't BC get fired up? Look at Carrol...that guy was having a f'ing heart attack and you could tell his heart was in the game and for his team...he was on the field with the stripes...showing fire in his eyes...you know...what coaches do that love their team

Why does calahan walk around with no emotion?

(And I don't want to hear that TO never did it....TO never had to...he was a record setting coach with 3 national championships)

I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on this?

I can see what you are saying!!!! Carroll was pretty crazy over there and having a lot of fun!!! I think Cally is trying to go with the serious approach so his players take nothing for granted. ;)

 
TO never did it! J/K I think that PC is in the minority of coaches that get fired up like that. It is really fun to watch though and you can tell that the players get into it.

There are a lot of people on this board that want BC to get "fired" in another way though...

 
a 28-10 loss to #2? Fired my a$$. He's still a good coach.

And STFU all of you about Solich. I don't want him back as coach but I have respect for that guy and he's a damn good coach with the right tools. He was hand picked by TO and he gave us some good seasons. Please show respect.

 
That's part of the reason why Pete Carroll is a top 5 recruiter. He's a player's coach. Bill Callahan looks lost a lot of times. He always has his head in his play sheets looking like he's reading an installation manual or something.

 
not his style. there are many different ways to coach, and different systems(west coast, option, so on) and the all are effective. they main thing is that your kids play hard, and believe in you. I think they do here, so I'm not going to complain.

 
I agree I think the guys believe in the system and I'm happy with that. We'll get better just give it some time. It's only one freakin game!!!! You would think the world was ending or something!!!! :wacko:

 
I do not think a coach needs to supply the fire. If McKeon cant get the players fired up then there are real problems.

The players play football for Nebraska that is all they should need.

There is something to be said about someone who always keeps his cool when the atmosphere is going crazy.

I thought the same thing when I say Carrol running around, jumping, and screaming after every play. It doesn't bother me that Callahan doesn't do that, but I would love to see Callahan jump around.

 
Who said anything about that. I'm just saying I would like to see it happen, but he has his own coaching style, and since it will get wins this season, I don't really care, as long as we win.
