Who will be the recruit to impact the most?

Roy CO HSKR

Five-Star Recruit
Anthony West, Ricky Thenarse, Cruz Barrett, Maurice Purify, Kenny Wilson or who?

I'd like to know your choice and the reasons behind it. Obviously, the competition at that position is a big factor. Can a lineman shine in the trenches? Does our weakness, at CB this past season, allow someone to get big praise? Does a Frosh have a chance over a JC player?

The Spring Fling is a nice practice and showpiece, but quite frankly isn't a good indication of too much with players still recovering from surgery, green shirted QBs and Frosh recruits not showing until the Fall. It is about promotion and 2007 recruiting, but that's still okay.

I am going with Purify. He is physically prepared to play at this level, and he can be put right in the action....he just needs to learn a few routes (and audibles) for a few plays we can get him in the action with. Carl Nicks will have a great impact...if he doesnt get immediate playing time he will be pushing for it and it will in turn help out our starters.

Defensively, we are solid enough that its hard for me to imagine one of the new guys pushing for time right away. At times our secondary looked a little weak so i am gonna have to say Andre Jones will come in, maybe as a Nickel back to play early. He is a physically good specimen and was said to be the best CB prospect in the nation, JUCO and High School recruits included.

I think Kenny Wilson will have the largest statisical impact due to the running back jumble. I think Andre Jones' impact will be similar to Bowman's this season, but I think that Steve Allen may have a big impact as well. Let's not forget that we have yet to see what Tomerlin, Suh, Roark and Octavien can really do!

i think carl nicks or victory haines because our o-line is suspect and after watching Nick's film i came away impressed with the way he dominated his competition and was unstoppable. Nicks is a juco so he is probably more mature than our other recruits that are coming out of high school. Victory looks a little undersized but i guess he's already on campus and probably hitting the weights to gain more strength. both have great motors and keep going after guys and knock em around.

then again this is just my opinion after watching both their films...

Nicks definitely looked impressive on his video as did Victory. Hopefully they can crack the 2-deep and contribute.

Hopefully they all can contribute along with redshirts from last year - That's what you want, kids that can play right away.

Mo Purify... He is a big time target that absolutely built for the type of routes we run. He is great on slants, crosses, and especially the fades that we like to run when we get around the opponets twenty. Him, Swift, Nunn, and one of the other guys in our receiving core will make a very solid rotation of receivers, and I expect Purify to pick up about 55 catches for about 900 yards with 9 tds.
