Who's gonna take the lead...

It was pretty apparent that Suh was the leader of the "D" this past season, but my question is, who's going to step up and take over this season?

Defense - Crick (I'd say one of our Sr DBs, but Crick seems to have the qualities of a leader.)

Offense - Helu (If we end up a running team that passes, Helu is going to have a great season highlighted by big performances in big games.)

I agree with you on Crick. I think Suh had taken him under his wing.

As for Helu, I disagree. I think whoever the QB is going to be, has to step up and take the reigns. Whoever's going to be taking the snaps has to establish himself as the alpha dog. I just don't think that Helu has that in him.

On the D I think its Crick, although it could be a group led by the seniors.

I will defer the Offensive predicition until after the spring game.

The good thing about this team is although we are young we still have experience all over the place. I see Crick, Allen, Amukamara, Thenarse, and Dennard all being leaders on D with Helu, Paul, and (insert O-lineman here) on offense.

Oh yeah, Henry and Martin on SP :)

Lee was my 2nd choice as the offense's leader. But, I think Helu is finally gonna break through that injury-prone stigma, stay healthy for his senior season & run with purpose & confidence. If he's able to do that, I see his confidence & resulting big performances being the primary catalyst to the success of our offense.

There are numerous guys on the defense but I really think on offence it has to be the QB, he handles the ball on almost every play and has to be the guy who when in the huddle says, "Shut the F up! This is the play we are running and by God you guys better do your job or you will have to deal with me!"

I like Henrey being part of the senoir leadership but when was the last time a kicker said, "Hop on my shoulders guys and I will kick us to a championship." He's an important cog in the machinery but he's not destined to be "the guy." He's more the guy who is going to say, "You guys play the game and score as many points as you can. If something happens and we don't get into the end zone I'll save our a$$ from inside midfield, just don't make me do it too often." (Don't get me wrong, I've loved this guy since the first time he steped on the field, and I don't think he's gotten the national regognition he's deserved.)

Id like to see Crick and Allen stepping up their games on the D next year, i also like our two corners in Dennard and Amukamara.

On O im anxious to see a healthy team as a whole. Healthy line, qb and backs.

I hope Helu proves me wrong. But if he gets bit by the "bug" again, then it's going to have to be Lee or whoever's taking the snaps.

At least we're talking about guys we can see taking charge, as opposed to those we can't...

It'd be great to see someone try to carry on the national momentum that Suh gave us this year, but from the offensive side of the ball. We're overdue for a big time play maker from the "O" that makes everyone else around him better. I'd love to see someone step up in a big way that affords them candidacy to some of the major offensive awards next year. It'd do wonders for our offensive recruiting the same way having Suh is helping us with our defensive recruiting for 2011.
