BRB, I still think if you're going to transfer, best to do it in one of the first two years. After that it definitely starts to not make sense (unless you're a proven commodity in high demand). There's a risk, but maybe they really don't like it and want a fresh start. It would be their only chance to get both the new start and the time to develop in that new program.
Fyfe wasn't going to transfer on the eve of the season after fall camp (which is when the scholarship was handed out). And walk-ons typically aren't going to transfer anyway. If he really had left after the season because he didn't get a scholarship, then there would have been 4-5 scholarship QBs (pending incoming freshmen, which we didn't end up getting, also partly thanks to the last staff), plus at least one walk-on, for 2015.
I think that's why there is speculation now. Probably no walk-on will receive word about whether their scholarship was renewed or not until the fall? Not sure if that is how it works. Presumably guys like Foltz are pretty assured of their position.
