Why all the pregame trash talk?

But then we would want to fire our DC bc his guys dont play with "fire" or accuse them of not caring.
If they’re stopping teams we would know they’re playing inspired. We wouldn’t know what, why or how but neither would the opponent :)

I’m not a fan of trash talking and it probably biases the refs.  I’d actually get my CBs to stop running their mouths and convince them that silently shutting down a receiver says a lot more than talk.  After breaking up a pass, instead of signaling incomplete or wagging your finger they should help the receiver off the ground so they can try again.  That would really mess with a WR’s head.
George Foreman really wishes people would stop trash talking...

It's just another part of the game. Breaking you opponent psychologically is just as important as doing it physically.

Now that we have worked through this, I prefer trash talking to whining.

This is the first time I have seen the winners whine.  It must be the Iowa way.
