Contributor Why Nebraska’s Night Game vs. USC Could Change Everything for Matt Rhule’s Huskers

Of all the possibilities for the USC game, my bet is on a Michigan type game where they play pretty well in places and fight till the end, but end up losing. Then we can't get mad because they played pretty well against a good team. But we can't be happy because it's still a loss and we've been up to our a$$ in moral victories for several years now.

Seems every other team in college football gets to enjoy an upset now and then. USC is becoming less of an upset every week, and UCLA is looming as a more dangerous game than we expected.

USC becoming more of an upset?? They lost to number 13 ranked Notre Dame on the road by 10 thanks to a 100 yard kick off return. They dismantled Michigan. I’ve seen nothing Nebraska has done on the field this season that gives me any hope of an upset. My prediction is it’s going to be Ugly.

Black jerseys. Night game. National spotlight. Everything’s on the line for Nebraska vs. USC.

Damn Trevor, using huskerboard to push traffic to your own site, bold bold move man. This seems to be in violation of rule number 7- “huskerboard is not to be used as a marketing tool for your website.”

Better hope you got a raiola somewhere in the family line otherwise your days around these parts are sure to be numbered

I don't think this team is built for upsets. Unless it's upsetting the fan base. You can't fix that OL play, inability to stop the run, pressure the QB or truly commit to the run in one week. Minny was an unmitigated dumpster fire. Too much mistakes on both sides. One handed Shavers and Spindler....Dana's play calling...Sacks....

I'd love the upset, just don't see it. I'm now in the see it to believe it mode.

Night game, nationally televised against a good team just means another Husker loss unfortunately.

It’s like having Red come up 18 times in a row but Husker fans have been betting Black the past 13 of them because well…the odds gotta come around sometime. But just never do.

:ROFLMAO: to the bold lol

I have seen nothing to make me believe we can stop USC’s offense. Right now to me this is the biggest blowout of the year. I don’t see how USC won’t put up 40+.

I think we will have a very difficult time hanging with them. By the end of the game there will be a moving truck backed up to Rhule's house with a banner stating "PSU or Bust". Our OL has digressed since Big 10 play has started. Outside of a few passes where he has shined, our 5 star QB has looked pretty 3 star to me. He's not mobile, slow decision maker. Yes, if he had a dependable line that could give him time, he can probably consistently drop a pass on the dime, but we don't have that OL and this in turns highlights the areas he struggles with. Our run defense is a problem as well - basically since our lines are our 5-2 record does not truly reflect the reality of who this team is which is Not Ready For Big Time TV. I just hope we aren't embarrassed a 2x on national TV. Minny exposed our lack of toughness.
