Why Wyoming Can Beat Nebraska - from the blogs at WyoNation

Anything is possible, some were saying the same things about beating Georgia last year. Think Big, no problem with that.

I think the Poke fans have been more than civil, and have hopes as all fans do to start the season. Not a sing person on here predicted the 2nd Wisconsin game last year. Anything in college football can happen, ask Michigan about Appalachian State.

Personal opinion it will not be as close as Cowboy fans hope, but I am sure they are coming here with the attitude they can win.

Good Luck to you and hope all players on both sides walk away from the game well and proud that they played the best the could. Nothing more needs to be asked.

Maybe this is what they are hanging their hat on

lets look at the opponents stat at the end of the year. UT gave up 63 pts to Oklahoma, allowed 412 yards per game, 6.01 per play, ranked 74th in point allowed. Said to be the worst every defense for the Mack Brown era. But, Smith makes a game of it.

Wyoming can win against Nebraska if the Huskers shoot themselves in the foot a hundred times. Period.
Yeah, you guys would never lose to a 6 or 7 win team like Northwestern, Iowa State or CU.

Just in case you guys don't remember, Wyoming is right next door. A lot of us are kind of familiar with Neb and their history.
1. Bo has never lost to Colorado.

2. We lost to both Northwestern and ISU because we shot ourselves in the foot multiple times, which is what he is saying, is he not?

Only if the NU coaching staff comes up to row 82 in the NW corner of the stadium and hauls my larded, 69 yr. old rear end out on the field to play defensive tackle.

Those are all BCS schools. How does that pertain to Wyoming?
Yeah, we only play pee-on schools the past 10 years like Boise St, Utah, BYU and TCU
In what universe do those schools compare to Wisconsin, Penn State, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan state, South Carolina, and Georgia?

TCU beat Wisconsin, Boise beat Georgia not to long ago, oh and Utah beat Bama and Michigan.

Bizzaro world,

The game has to be played, but extremely unlikely that it's not a blowout win for NU

Back in 1894 The Omaha YMCA played NU really close losing 12-6
What matters is what's happening in 2013 NU vs Wyoming
Wyoming isnt on par with any of those teams you mentioned

Michigan State beat Boise, we beat Michigan State. Winner!

Are you seriously trying to make a point about teams playing one major game and winning being comparable to Power Conference teams that play top opponents week in and week out?

TCU beating Wisconsin in 2011.... I'll give that to ya.

Georgia of 2012 and 2013 is not Georgia of 2011. They were a good drive away from playing for the national championship.

And Utah beat Michigan in 2008 and beat Bama in 2009.

But honestly, so what.... you guys got embarrassed by Boise State last year and 2011. You guys lost to TCU in 201. You guys got embarrassed by Utah in 2010. By the way, you also lost to us in 2011.

Since 2011, what would you consider to be your single defining victory? Ours is easily defeating Ohio State (a team most people are predicting will be playing for the MNC this year) with the biggest come back in school history, playing against an actual Heisman contender.

If Neb doesn't show up and play well, they could get beat.
It's possible. Do you think that it's likely?
of course not likely. but possible? Yes
So, in a nutshell, you see two possibilities; #1 Most likely- Nebraska beats Wyoming or #2 Possible but unlikely- Nebraska doesn't show up and play well and thus beat themselves. Now remind me, where does Wyoming play into the outcome?

This last bit is a stretch. Braxton Miller was a freshman, we injured him at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and that Ohio State team went 6-7. I'd say our best win since moving to the Big Ten was probably that beating we gave Sparty in 2011. It was like 24-3 or something like that, and they wound up winning 10 games, the division, and nearly the conference.

While the MSU game was a definite showing of our skills, when I think of a defining moment it has to be OSU. Also I still believe we win with Miller in the game, we were stopping him before he got injured and their defense couldn't stop our diamond package once we started running it.
