I'm really not sure that benching taylor for the final three games of the season is going to make that big of a difference. Especially considering it sounds like Beck would be in, and burning his redshirt at this point if you don't have to would probably not be for the best. Taylor made some bad decisions, but he also made some very nice plays and (again) took a lot of hits. As for Lucky, with the way the o-line is playing starting him is going to make no difference. I also noticed he doesn't cut back very well (most likeyl from lack of experience and a sub par o line)

Why ask why?

As I sat and watched the game they showed flashbacks of various Husker plays of success and some of failures against OU. I thought back to the Sooners days of woe as they asked the question, "Who coached OU between Barry Switzer and Bob Stoops?"

Thinking about this question brought me back to the time where OU wasn't a powerhouse as it was in the 70's and 80's.

Hearing Barry Switzer comment on how he was thankful he didn't have to face the Huskers of the 90's.

We have a lot to be proud of as Husker fans. Although it is going to take atleast another year and some hefty work on the O-line, I have faith.

I'd be upset if Nebraska was ranked and jockeying for the National Championship, but they are not...even close.

We'll get a bowl this year and that is progress from last year.

It's tough. Being spoiled from a system where an Iowa State, Missouri, Colorado or Kansas State could already be marked up as a win even hours to days before kick-off because we knew a double-digit win was forth coming, to being satisfied with a one point win over a sub-par program.

Yes, Tom Osborne's playbook may work in today's college football, but college football is gearing more and more towards producing players that will transition smoothly into the NFL. Option Quarterbacks don't fair so well...we all know that.

It's hard medicine to swallow, but given time, Husker Football will be fun again.

As always...GBR! :thumbs

You've got to be kiddin. This loss no way falls on the shoulders of taylor. The team all around is poor. Taylor by no means is an All American, but he has been playing decent. I don't want to see beck get thrown out there. First, I don't think it is worth it to burn a redshirt w/ 3 games left, and second this O-line is terrible. I don't want to see a newbie out there having to make decisions while he is under duress every play.

Lucky hasn't shown much all year. He has gotten the ball a few times but nothing too impressive. He looks good on kickoff returns though. Maybe its the playcalling. I would like to get him the ball in space, but they hardly ever throw to him, and when they do he either trips, or it is a crappy throw. I don't think any rb is gonna look good behind this line.

No quarterback - not even Beck - can perform when he's running for his life. No running back - not even Lucky - can gain yards when there are no holes. Throwing them in the mix now would make the team worse, not better.
