Will POB Start next season

Our defense is getting better each game, while the offense is getting worse, mostly due to Armstrong's inability to throw and make plays. He may have one good game (like at Minnesota), but he's not consistent enough to be the starting QB for NU. I'm wondering if Patrick O'Brien or another QB on the team may start next season despite Armstrong being a senior. I'm all for a change.

Armstrong should be on the bench now in my humble opinion. He will not play next year and look for us to have another 5-7 season next year!

I agree...He does not deserve to be the starting QB for this team. I would rather lose giving a younger guy a chance to get reps than to lose with the same old inconsistent QB.

It will probably be best if POB redshirts next season and I would be surprised if anybody other than Armstrong takes snaps at QB unless an injury occurs.

As far as Armstrong being on the bench right now... there simply isn't another QB on the roster who's even close to being starting QB material.

Patrick O'Brien will start on day 1.

The coaches won't say it but they are just trying to get through the season. They know they need a capable QB and right now POB would step in right now at this moment and throw better balls and make better decisions than TA.

The problem to me is all the sh#t we heard about using the qb run and roll outs and stuff just seemed to be talk. We will do that on occasion, just to say " see fans we are being flexible" but it's mostly standard wco fare.

I hope he's good enough to start next season. We won't be any better offensively with TA at the helm next season unless Langsdorf finally learns how to operate a run-first offense.

I think he will start by the end of the year. Riley is hellbent on passing more than he should. I think he should just run more until we can get a type of qb that can actually complete 65% of his passes as oppossed to 50%

I really dislike that notion. I know players practice and all but how do you know a player is not game ready unless you give them a shot? Many players throughout history have come off the bench and jumped into the spotlight. You really don't know how good someone is until you put them in a live game. See 2007 when Sam Keller went down, Joey Ganz came in and became a very, very good QB and people constantly kept saying we had no one behind Keller that could be a solid QB.

I'm looking forward to POB coming to Nebraska but my opinion is that he most likely redshirts next year. The hype around POB already is making him Johnny Stanton 2.0.

Well it's not the hype that makes that crap happen, its just it ended up being a bust. Doesn't mean POB will, doesn't mean POB won't.
