Anyone who thinks Beck hasn't done a great job as OC this year is flat out stupid, doesn't know what they are talking about, an doesn't know football. That is all.

Beck will put us in the best place to win.

That's not a bad strategy if you can make it work. UGA has been pretty good against the run in the first qtr. Even Alabama didn't really start running until well into the 2nd qtr. The question is if it is not working initially will he keep at it? The other thing is that UGA has been scoring pretty well this year, so if, per chance, UGA gets ahead by a couple of runs, will he be forced to change tactics? UGA seems to either get worn down or doesn't have the depth for a sustained rushing attack. UGA did do pretty well against the two option teams we faced, but that is a different animal all together.

Running straight at UGA (too much speed to go side to side) or rolling Martinez out of the pocket with maybe some run pass options is probably the best bet. You don't want him sitting in the pocket. UGA's strength is the pass rush.

As far defending UGA's offense, it is pretty doggone balanced. Still the best bet (as always) is to stop the rush and try to make UGA one dimensional. If you can do that and put some serious pressure on Murray (and for all his knocks, it takes serious pressure to rattle him) you have a chance to force some mistakes. Even Michigan State was able to do that last year in the Bowl game.

We held OSU's rushing game in the first quarter. Then the second quarter started. This will be what happens to UGA.

 
Tim Beck could call a 1st down quick kick from the Georgia 40 on 6 different occasions and still not be fired. No one's getting fired. No coaching changes. Sorry.

But Nebraska is one of the best teams at turning double plays, so your point is invalid.

 
1. Never go up against a Sicilian (Georgian?) when death (bowl game) is on the line.

2. Never get involved in a land war in SE Asia.

 
Beck runs more than he passes. 63.4% of his plays are on the ground. I am almost positive Georgia will hurt us defensively if all we do is run the ball. You need to mix it up. That is why we are so dangerous running the ball.

Just because a team is weak in rush defense, doesn't mean they can't stop it if they know its coming. The reason Georgia lacks rushing defense, is because the teams they have faced, spread out their defense, and forced them to make open field tackles.
