WR/DB Xavier Rucker

seems this kid might just try to walk-on at NU? size is his draw back, but has a ton of speed (4.48 40)......seems like he would be a small target for a receiver and i can't seem him and Grix as both DB's......would have to stack them to make a play on a tall wideout!.......could be interesting? then maybe not........anyone got anything on him?

my *guess* would be no. but only because Mike Rucker was from Missouri. not that family ties don't tend to spread out across the country.

similar question, i would be curious if he has any connections to Swift/Murtha... aren't they from Minneapolis area? It seems odd that a guy from that part of the country to want to walk on here without some kind of connection.

Different high school. Murtha and Swift went to Hutchinson HS in Hutchinson, MN. Rucker goes to Breck in Minneapolis, MN. Yet they might know each other.

i knew they were from Minnesota, obviously couldn't remember where.

question still stands though as to why a minnesota kid want to walk on at NU?

charles rucker is his dad. he played for NEBRASKA back in 83 or around there.

like many of you, i like the family ties thing we have going on right now.

honestly, I don't think he will see the field cornerbacking for us if that is what you speak of...but I have this funny feeling that this rucker will someday be a good returner for us with his small body being hard to find behind blockers and be a dante hall type guy returning kicks...ok I am dreaming... :lol:
