WR Randal Grimes [USC - Signed LOI]

Said his visit was great. Plane got cancelled because of the weather.. Didn't love the cold but said he would be fine playing in it. Coach Williams picked him up for the airport. Official to USC next weekend. Down to Nebraska and USC. Enjoyed being on the field. Found it crazy people knew who he was during his official. Williams will be doing an in home soon. Said it wasn't a good visit but a great visit. Talked about Tyjon a little, seemed like they must be in contact. If you listen to the periscope you can hear them talking about the new rankings from Rivals.. Coach Dub says, "Trevon Grimes?? He ain't no 5 star" lol.

Eeeeek. Is Williams on camera when he says it, or is it obvious he said it?

 
You can tell it's Dub - very distinctive voice. I didn't take it as negative as you seem to be - they spent a lot of time talking about how stars don't matter.

I don't think it was anything close to any sort of violation - they were talking about Hawkins FB vs. other teams, injuries - it was a broad CA fb discussion. Not sure how that could be a violation but I don't know all the intricacies of the rules.

 
Mentioning a recruit by name on social media before they enroll is a violation.

Though, I'm not sure if that would apply since it wasn't Williams' Periscope. That's a bit of a grey area.

 
The fact that Ole Miss hasnt gotten in trouble with all the smoke around their program makes me laugh at the NCAA. I dont think they have any power anymore. Honestly i think soon enough the NCAA will come down on some bigger program and that program will literally ignore them and just continue on. The schools conference and all its teams will ignore the punishment too. This will leak over into the rest of the conferences. This will hopefully lead to the basic breakaway from the ncaa as a regulation body at least, and hopefully a new body with some actual power and due diligence will be formed within the P5.
