Yeah, kind of what I was thinking as well. Or some other off-the-field issue suddenly came to light.

I think I saw reports of clashing with administration. But if they were going to fire him, they would have done that a month ago. That makes your guess seem pretty likely - they wanted to get rid of him but wanted to find a replacement first.

Wilcox would be good for us imo. Not sure his California appeal and obviously a division opponent loses a key coach.
