Some great news!! It was a huge mistake to take them away in the first place, very excited to see it reinstated.

The IOC pretty much admitted it was a mistake. Apparently even most of the IOC was surprised that it was cut. Just one committee voted it out.

 
I would say this is comparable to cutting track and field as an Olympic sport.
