Stupider things have been done. But he may have another ace up his sleeve since the Bengals have been trying to change their image as of late. He has the character they've been looking for, we'll see if they recognize it.

The contract isn't guaranteed, and it wouldn't be a big salary cap hit. If he makes it, he will be among the last few.

Correct. Only slightly over $100k is guaranteed.

As per usual with NFL contracts, they sound like at least twice as much money as they are actually worth, and some time well more than that.

 
If he gets face time on Hard Knocks in the next couple weeks it will be a bad sign. I've watched most of the seasons and this is about the time they feature a few borderline players. The will they make it pov is good tv.

The contracts don't officially start until the season starts. The only thing Rex has gotten paid is his signing bonus (someone said $100k or so), plus minimal "per diem" and "preseason game checks" which would be a few hundred bucks.

 
Someone will pick him up if he does get cut. Steelers just lost Bell maybe for the year. Bengals have to many good guys, he needs to go somewhere were hes needed and used, and he will flourish.

 
Any one see Reggie Bush tear it up again last night.. 6 carries for 1 yard. Dude is killin it right now.. Where is the guy who posted Bush was tearing it up now??

Bush also 5 catches for 103 yards, so I would consider that a pretty good night. Bush will make a killing as an outlet receiver from the backfield, as teams focus on Megatron down field.

I didn't say he was tearing it up now but he's going to be a force when the season starts. Some people forget this is still preseason and working everything out. Detroit will make the playoffs this year.
