WWE Network

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I was wondering who else is planning to get WWE Network when it arrives Feb 24th?

$10 a month and you sign a contract to get the first 6 months for sure which equals a total of $60 and includes Wrestlemania XXX (30). Wasn't sure if I would get it or not but they sold me when I found out you can view it on Computer, Tablet Phone and PS3 (PS4 and Xbox 360 too). 12 PPVs included a year, weekly shows you can watch when you want, and thousands upon thousands of exclusive content in their library. I spend over $10 a month buying WWE DVDs/Blueray so I am totally sold.

Anybody else as excited as I am?

I won't be getting WWE Network, but it's a big deal in terms of the future of television.

To try to get across just how big—and how good—a deal the WWE Network is, here's a brief description of it denuded of the word "wrestling." In its place, swap in anything you love; sports, genres, individual channels, animals that think they're people. Your niche.
Here's a streaming network that offers a 30 year back catalog of [THING YOU LOVE]. Add in free access to live [THING YOU LOVE] events that normally cost in the neighborhood of $45 a pop and happen roughly once a month. On top of that, toss in some goofy original content about [THING YOU LOVE], every reality show format you can think of, reframed to specifically target [THING YOU LOVE] in a way that feels like a fever dream of access and delight. You can access this network on nearly any device that you own, perpetually just a few clicks away from [THING YOU LOVE] streaming in 720p.

And it costs ten bucks a month.

For the right person—the person the WWE network is targeting—that's insane. For the rest of us, it's a clear-eyed look at what an a la carte television utopia could be.

We'll see. I normally just fast forward Raw and Smackdown other than Bray Wyatt, Daniel Bryan and CM Punk segments. I sometimes watch Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow matches if they are facing someone else good. I can't stand Randy Boreton and John Cena.

I also have a website to get all WWE/UFC ppvs for free. And if I want to watch old matches, I use YouTube. But like I said, we will see.

$10 a month for a single channel. Who's idea of 'utopia' is that? So if I want even half of the channels I have now in an 'a la carte' world I have to spend a ton more money. Yeah that sounds better than the massive package deal. I watch more than 15 channels, so my bill would skyrocket. Not what people think it is.

If someone is a hardcore wrestling fan and orders every ppv, they are saving $30 every month. For WM30, they are saving $50. Id say that's a pretty good deal.

For me it would be perfect since I only watch football on TV. Everything else is netflix and dvd. If I could just pay a lump sum every season I'd be cool with that. But I'm not about to buy the expensive package that I have to have year round (thanks ESPN1-30) or pay an installation fee every fall.

As far as this WWE thing...Vince has money to burn so why not see if it works...XFL...

As a standalone channel, its no issue. I have HBO and pay extra for that. Its the whole, large scale a la carte that I have issue with.

It's difficult to believe that the WWE is still popular. So popular that some cable providers think its worthy of its own channel.
