Yanks me

The Yankees are the reason baseball went from America's Pasttime to now being considered the 3rd or 4th most popular sport in America behind NFL, NBA and hell, even NASCAR.  In a few years Soccer will be more popular.

0 World Series rings since 2006 and spent almost a billion on payroll. Steinbrenner obviously has forgotten what won them championships in the late 90s.

I agree...baseball needs to get a handle on the spending disparity. I mean the freekin' Marlins have a 14 million dollar payroll vs. the Yankees 200 million dollar plus!!! What is cool is they haven't won it all in the last few years with those huge salaries.

The Marlins had a choice, they have built two winners and blown them up. Granted, they have no stadium or support but that is crap. And you have to spend money wisely to be successful. I don't think the Yankees have the past few years and that is what hurt them (Kevin Brown, Giambi, Johnson) Plus, look at the Dodgers who suck at spending money (KEvin Brown, SHeffield, Driefort, Chan ho Park, not giving it to Gagne, or Green)

Who cares if they beat the flippin Royals? I for one don't. It's the second week of the year and the Yanks are beating up on the worst team in baseball. Whoopity-Do.

Doesn't David Glass own most of Walmart? Small market my a$$, its called cheap. He can put more money in the team if he wanted to, to make it a winner, but choses not to. Hell, all he has to do is spend in the area of 65 - 80 million to make it a 100% better team.
