we need to control the ball, but that doesn't mean to just run. we need to nickle and dime them to death with screens and short passes. (if you saw the KC-denver game a few weeks back, thats a good blue print) every so often we have to take our shots

As the coach I would dink and dunk with Zac's accuracy to Herian, etc, get Taylor in a rhythym, and hit Swift or Nunn on a fly or a post. As they add extra backs for the secondary for help, QUADZILLA them. Not rocket science. :) Husker Science!!! BEAT TEXAS!!!

 
I think we will be able to stop their O, and I think we can move the ball on them. But field position will be a huge thing in this game. Titchner is going to have to have some good punts inside UT's 20.

 
I tend to believe that offensively our best chance lies with shorter passes - quick, three-step drops that help to neutralize the Texas rush. Their front seven are fast and very, very good. I don't see us being sucessful running it much, and I don't think we can consistently hold the line for a lot of deep passes. That leaves us with short, quick routes and drops.

 
It's going to depend on the weather....you can't air it out as much if it's wet slippery and raining with wind.....we have the running game for that type of environment so I would say if it's going to be like that run it up the gut and do some short passes. If the weather sucks it probably will come down to a defensive game. IMO

A key for our defense is trying to stop the run with as few guys as possible. If we could consistantly shut down the run with as few as six people, that would allow us to play Thenarse as a nickle back and not force us to stay in our 4-3 and bring the safeties up for help.

 
First couple of seires I run hurry up...quick slants, outs, screens, hell..script it if you need to. I promise you they'll be looking run. I don't know about everyone else here but I'm sick and tired of losing to these guys. We have to go in knowing that they don't respect us, no one does anymore, this saturday is the biggest game of the season. I hope we go in to that game willing to die to beat these guys. I'm not scared, I hope the guys aren't either.
