Zac left Wake

At the time, he didn't think he would be able to see the field in a reasonable amount of time considering who was ahead of him. Also, the guy who recruited and coached him, the offensive coordinator I believe, left. He thought it would be best to leave.

They were better than him when he was a true freshmen. Not necessarily now. I don't even know if they have the same QB's. They might. Someone else probably knows.

He left because of the style of offense. As you can see they run the ball, he was told somrhting else when he was being recruited.

It has been my understanding that either the coaches changed or the offensive style changed from a passing system to a running system. In terms of better QB play from the other QB's, it might be that the other QB's were option or running style QB's.

It would be like trying to compare Peyton Manning to Tommie Frazier. Both were great in their respective offenses, but both would have been horrible in the other's. It's tough to say, but I highly doubt we have a lot to fear from the Wake QB. It's not like he's a Brad Smith or Vince Young.

Nebraska's Taylor faces old school in Wake Forest

ERIC OLSON

Associated Press

Taylor said he left Wake Forest because he didn't think he could beat out the two quarterbacks ahead of him - current starter Ben Mauk and backup Cory Randolph.
"Looking at the situation, I think I've improved a lot the last two years," Taylor said. "The two years I was there they had some quarterbacks who were better than I was. I saw the writing on the wall. I just thought I'd find an opportunity playing somewhere else, so I decided to leave."

It wasn't as if Wake Forest wanted Taylor to go, coach Jim Grobe said.

Grobe said that by the end of the 2003 season, he would have been comfortable playing Taylor if that year's starter, Randolph, had gone down.

After seeing ZT run (or some semblence thereof) Saturday, I understand why he left Wake and the new run-oriented offense his OC was going to run!

Taylor running an option offense would be like Dailey running a passing offense. It just wouldn't work. I believe the guy that was his QB coach and recruited him is with the Broncos.
