True2tRA
I had heard about this amazing man a few years ago when I saw a video which is attached in this article. http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-33350880 I recommend reading this story and if you've got a minute, watch the short videos. I was particularly moved by the video of Winton sitting unknowingly surrounded by several of the children, now grown men and women, whose lives he had saved. Nicholas Winton passed away just a couple days ago at the age of 106. If you'd never heard of him, I'd hope you read this and feel as amazed by human compassion as I felt after hearing about this man. There's a lot of amazing people out there, and this guy was definitely one of them. Another interesting fact was that apparently almost fifty years went by before Wintons story was even discovered. The man did not seek credit or notoriety. It wasn't until his wife found documentation and records in their attic and she felt the story needed to be told. Another article link: http://www.latimes.com/local/obituaries/la-me-nicholas-winton-dies-20150701-story.html Some of you may have already heard of this man, some maybe not, I felt compelled to share the story though. 1 Quote Link to comment
