Creighton to the Big East?

Congrats to Creighton -- that's a huge conference upgrade. Who would of thought back in 2009 that the state of Nebraska would become Big Ten/Big East territory?

Some one from Creighton just posted he is now attending school in a "power" conference. I thought power conferences played football? And will they get "travel" money?

i think when looking at bball alone, it will be considered a top-tiered program, whereas the MVC was a second-tired program, at best.

Other than St. John's and Providence, all of the schools' colors involve blue of some sort.

Not really that important, but just something I noticed.

blue seems to be a popular color in bball in general.
I think the blue teams just happen to be better at basketball. Duke, UNC, Kansas, and others also play football in major conferences, but they just really stink.

Well I had never heard of this school until a month ago but it sounds like a good fit for the Big East III. Hopefully these type of urban/private/bball schools can make a splash in the NCAA and show how a conference can be successful without Espn driven football soap operas.

New York state's Mr. Basketball is apparently interested in Creighton. Who knows if he signs, but a guy like that doesn't blink an eye at Creighton without the conference move.
