Nebraska/Oregon connection

It's fair to say the Beck promotion was a Homerun, but the Papuchis hire? To be determined at best....
To be determined is 100% accurate. I can live with that. It's those that already write it off as the wrong hire who have no clue. Because we have no clue yet.
You kind of wonder if we ever will with Papuchis. I know his job title, but this is Bo's defense....
This is true as well. The Nebraska defensive coordinator position is pretty much going to be a glorified figure-head as long as Bo is here.

It is funny that you say this because the OC position at Oregon under Helfrich seems to be about the same. And this is the reason I think Frost comes back as OC when Beck gets his well deserved head coaching job.

Well nevermind, I just read that Helfrich said Frost will be calling plays this year. Congrats to Frost. I was positive Helfrich would keep play calling duties.

Frost comes over to NU when Beck gets HC gig
I would love to see Scott come back to NE, but I think he really likes it in Eugene - and the Ducks really seem to like him (I live in Portland). In addition, right now the way things sit, leaving Eugene for Lincoln would be a bad choice for his resume. Nebraska has not been on the same level with Oregon the last 5 to 8 years and while I hope that changes, our recruiting would really need to turn it around and compete with the big boys again.

Scott comes back, maybe, as Head Coach down the road. I would very much like to see that happen, it would close up a lot of wounds opened during the last 15 years.

GBR

oooooh, someone created a new thread title and moved this.

Good job. This a strong topic on it's own. Thanks to whoever moved it. ; P :wasted

I can get behind this.

Maybe that is why they are breaking the icy relationship and sharing ideas.

A bridge is being built and I am all for that.
I think schools sharing ideas is a lot more prevalent than we may think. I talked to Scott last summer while wearing an Oregon State shirt. He was quick to mention he had a lot of friends on OSU's staff. In the same breath, he mentioned he had a lot of friends on most of the Pac 12's staffs except for ASU and USC.
