***2015 Recruiting***

Another report that we are looking at 16 in this class. We'll likely take another QB and some think Dillman won't end up in this class. Probably two WRs. I'm not sure we take a TE. One more OT. One DE. One S. That probably leaves us without a LB. Not terribly concerning as we don't seem to be high on many lists at that spot and only lose one. Have to get a couple next year but we'll have a lot of room.

QB - 1-2 - Dillman
RB - 1 - Bussey
WR - 2
TE - 0
OT - 2 - Gaylord
OG/C - 1 - Decker

DT - 2 - C. Davis, K. Davis
DE - 2 - Neal
LB - 0
CB - 2 - Lee, Anderson
S/N - 2 - Williams

How can we not take a LB if we have a starter, Zaire Anderson, graduating after the season?

Pretty much what I said - we're only losing one and we don't seem to be getting much interest from the ones we want. We wanted one, maybe two, but it just doesn't seem to be working out. We only lose one this year and one next year so we're pretty young at that position. If we were taking 20-22 in this class, I'm sure we'd get at least one. But we have to be picky with only so many to sign and there are other positions that are greater needs.

Maybe offer a Juco after the season? The numbers will be more clear by then too.

I don't think after this season because we're still (probably) at the limit. But I could definitely see a JUCO in the 2016 class to help fill in, especially a 3 for 2 guy. Unless we have some underclassmen leave after the season.

He tweets a lot of Nebraska stuff along with other schools but he doesn't have a lot of offers. I get the feeling he's trying to drum up business

Well, I guess if we're getting commits from guys we didn't even know were offered that helps fill in the WR spot that seemed like it didn't even have many really good leads lately.....

LB Saleem Brightwell of Paramus, NJ says we are one of three schools talking to him the most, along with Michigan State and Pittsburgh. Rutgers and Syracuse also working on him.

We don't seem to have offered yet but I think we'd like to get one LB in this class.

At least from a numbers stand point, it hurts now but having Michael Rose and Charles Jackson on the roster for one more year will help out down the road. Shores up some quality depth.

Tears is gone but we might have a little better chance to keep Harrison so it'll be interesting to see what happens at WR. We don't seem to be very high on to many recruit's lists so I left it at 2-3 for now. CJ Johnson likely to take one spot Monday. With Martinez leaving, I assume we might look at two more DBs in this class. Dillman now a QB so we are looking for a second QB.

QB - 1-2 - Dillman

RB - 1 - Bussey

WR - 2-3

TE - 0-1

OT - 2 - Gaylord

OG/C - 2 - Decker

DT - 2 - C. Davis, K. Davis

DE - 2-3 - Neal

LB - 2

CB - 2 - Lee, Anderson

S/N - 2-3 - Williams
In a interview with Doherty, he said that Coach Garrison has put this class at 16 total recruits, with needs for 1 OL, 1 DL, 1 LB, and 1 ATH for sure. This seems like a more realistic than 19-20. Since we are still going after another DB that could leave the sixth spot for a WR. The ATH I assume would either be at a QB, TE, or WR position.
QB - 1-2 - Dillman

RB - 1 - Bussey

WR - 1-2

TE - 0-1

OL - 3 - Gaylord, Decker

DL - 4 - C. Davis, K. Davis, Neal

LB - 1

DB - 4 - Lee, Anderson, Williams
Are these still the numbers we are looking at? If so this

QB: 1-2 (IMO, if we don't get Lamar Jackson..I don't think we will... we take 1): Dillman

RB: 1: Bussey

WR: 1-2: Lundle.....seems like we are looking/talking for at least 1 more.

TE: 0-1: Tavin Richardson or none.

OL: 3: Mirko, Gaylord, Decker....looks like we would still take someone like Milo but I think that is a longshot.

DL: 4: Davis, Davis, Neal....still looking for another D-end.

LB: 1: Looking for one for sure now I think

DB: 4: Williams, Lee, Anderson....I still think we end up with Doherty as the last one.

I'd say that's about right. The base numbers below add up to 15. We have 12 committed right now and currently have three open scholarships for next year, although Avery Moss would is expected to take one of those as well. This would seem to indicate that we're looking for WR-DE-S to fill those last three spots. I haven't heard anyone throw out any numbers recently but I'd say 15-16 is probably a good number for now. We might get a feel for someone leaving early as the season goes along.

The players in parenthesis - as you mentioned - would be the exceptions over-riding the number we're looking for. I'd say we'd also take a LB if we found one we like but there doesn't seem to be a lot of names out there right now. I would say we would be fine being "short" at any of the WR-DE-S positions if we got an "extra" commit somewhere. DE would seem to be the biggest need but we're throwing a lot of bodies at that spot this fall so if 1-2 really come along it might not be as much of a need. Also, getting Moss back could just replace the likely loss of Gregory.

QB - 1 - Dillman (Jackson)
RB - 1 - Bussey
WR - 2 - Lundie
TE - 0 - (Richardson)
OT - 2 - Gaylord, Jurkovic (Milo)
OG/C - 1 - Decker

DT - 2 - C. Davis, K. Davis
DE - 2 - Neal
LB - 0
CB - 2 - Lee, Anderson
S/N - 2 - Williams
