This was mostly mentioned already, if so I apologize. But is it to be assumed he will also be the QB coach as well?

Yeah, between Langsdorf and Riley, the QB spot should be well coached.

Yeah, unless the HC is the OC, the OC is also the QB coach. Works that way in about 95% of CFB schools.

Great hire. He knows everyone is on the hot seat in new York, come to nebraska and have success you will be a head coach in 4 to 5 years
Not jumping on you TTRR because this has been brought up several times other places but this is a perfect example of lies, damn lies and statistics. Manning was about as bad as possible last year. That stat has been thrown out a lot as "look how good he did with Manning." But in the four years prior to last year, Manning averaged 4,226 yards, 61.5% completions, 28 TDs, 17 INTs, and a 89.6 rating. He had 4,410 yards, 63.1%, 30 TDs, 14 INTs and a 92.1 rating this year. That is, he basically returned to form after a terrible year last year.

My guess is that Coughlin may only coach one more year and then call it quits or be let go. I think he is taking a job he knows he will have for a few years.

I kind of remember hearing that Reilly has (at least in the past) called his own plays.
Will this Giants guy be the one actually calling the plays or will it be like a Callahan/Norvell, Callahan/Watson type deal?

I'd love to see more on him. If someone can expand on this, that would be great but here are some things I looked for immediately.
I have a feeling that we will have a pro style passing attack.
Looks like his last year there (2013), Oregon State averaged 48 +/- passing attempts to 27 +/- rushing attempts per game.
34.8 pts per game (27th in NCAA)
Although it looked more balanced in 2012, 38 +/- passing attempts to 34 +/- rushing attempts per game.
32.5 pts per game (37th in NCAA)
Those are not bad numbers at all.
For comparison, during the same time period our pts per game:
2013
31.9 pts per game (48th in NCAA)
2012
34.8 pts per game (28th in NCAA)
Two years don't tell a story at all, but it does give us a little bit of insight.

So despite a weird 2011, he's coached consistently good offenses. Not to mention coaching up Jacquizz Rodgers, Brandin Cooks, and Markus Wheaton enough that the NFL wanted them.
