I might be missing your point. Does Frost trust Martinez? In the totality of their relationship? I'm sure. With the game on the line, last night? I don't think so. Next week against NIU? Sure. I'm thinking it was more situational than a definitive statement on the season moving forward. How does your QB gain trust in our coach that he is doing whats best for him in that situation as well, everyone heard it for what it was including Adrian.
I heard "we held onto the ball too long" in that same presser. I'm sure Martinez heard "Martinez held onto the ball too long". That's what I heard. When I hear "we looked at running plays...didn't want to throw an IT in OT", as a competitor I am hearing coach doesn't think I can get it done. Nor does he trust me, the leading rusher to try and run......My number isn't called. Why not.....
I also step back and look at my 7-17 performance in the 2nd half and realize through a combination of play calling, drops, poor throws and decisions, maybe I didn't earn his trust...
I am confident that those questions have already been asked and answered and we will not be privy to any of it. Both are in a trick bag as Martinez is his guy and a captain....The team doesn't need the distraction moving forward. Flush and forget. Next game up.
