UCLA does NOT have a fantastic fan atmosphere.No.2, No.3 and No.4 are crappy stadiums. Probably fan atmospheres, not structures
Broadcaster Keith Jackson used to marvel (repeat it in his legendary voice) about the majestic San Gabriel Mountains hovering in the distance at the Rose Bowl. Good luck finding a more picturesque backdrop for any football stadium on the planet, especially at sunset. Sure, the stadium is old and in need of repairs, but there's a reason it was established as a National Historic Landmark.
The Rose Bowl Game is held there every year. The stadium also has hosted five Super Bowls, an Olympic gold medal match in soccer and multiple World Cup finals. Although UCLA doesn't draw big crowds for home games, the blend of history, pageantry and scenery surrounding the iconic 92,542-seat stadium in Pasadena, California, makes it a must-visit for any college football fan
This. Our draw is the sellouts (I'm honestly shocked it's still going but the University knows they better keep it going by any means necessary, or really watch the bottom fall out). There are much better places to watch football games IMO, as far as fan experience, seating quality, amenities, restrooms, ingress/egress, tailgating, on and on.I forgot to add, ours is pretty tired in amenities and atmosphere. There are way too many ads on the video screens and too many people being recognized (loudly) during pivotal moments of the game. Commercials should only be for tv watchers.
I could forgive the actual amenities if the atmosphere was rockin. Heck it would be a retro bonding experience. We could brag about not needing a 1/2 billion $ facility to be an intimidating place to play.This. The Rose Bowl only looks cool when the Rose Bowl is being played in it...otherwise it's the coliseumHere's what they said about The Rose Bowl
