We're #24 in the Coaches Poll and #23 in the AP Poll.

There's a good possibility Illinois is ranked when we play them. Nebraska played great yesterday on defense, but the fun part about this team is that they can get a lot better as well. Nebraska had a weird second half - conservative plays combined with shoddy officiating made the team out of rhythm. If Nebraska can put it all together, they can find themselves ranked in the top 15 to end the season. The ceiling for this team is a lot higher than what I thought coming in, where I thought they'd be 6-6 or 7-5. They could finish 9-3 or 10-2 if they are able to be a consistent team and improve as the season goes on.

At the time I wanted to the feel the same. A day later, it was a genius plan to get the win and not care about vanity.  I think we have PTSD from the previous 10 years, so that might influence our in game thoughts and feelings. I know I felt some deja vu early in the 4th
 

I can’t really explain the 4th quarter. Not sure that was all us.  The only valid penalty I remember was the hold on Ben Scott

Q3 was us, Q4 was the refs.

I agree but I don’t care. They can climb back into the ranking if they earn it. They should not be ranked today.

Blue bloods always get special treatment, Michigan is not a top 20 team this year either, but historically I don't think there's a team that has been more undeservedly ranked like Notre Dame has consistently been for the last 30 years.

At least Michigan lost to a top 5 team. It's a lot different.

And yes, this is why I hate Notre Dame more than almost any other team. This and the fact they have so many bandwagon fans and "fans" who use them as a backup team. I can't think of anything any of their players have ever done to annoy me.

True. Plus they're defending national champs, so that's another bias to keep them elevated, but they're hit garbage on offense right now. Wish we had them on our revenge tour this year.
