What did we learn Rutgers edition

Two sacks, around eight pressures...on less than 30 game snaps.
Guys that "get sacks" just get sacks.  It is hard to explain.  But JW's will make an NFL team IF they want a guy to come in on 2nd and long and 3rd and long.

There are two types of guys that get sacks.    Physical freaks and dudes that just get sacks.   JW's is that guy.

I think it was the 2nd quarter or something where we had like 4 or 5 straight runs that were all positive, then we threw it 3 times and had to punt. We're so schizophrenic offensively!

Dowdell had a couple successful runs so Satt kept calling that same play over and over until they caught on and stopped those. RJ did great making the most out of nothing. Grinder.

And here we are.  Officially damned if you do, damned if you don't.

His relationship with Knighton might be the best part of this kid's story.  I'm pulling for him in a big way.

Underrated quality that the Blackshirts have been *really* good at this year:

Continuing to rush the passer while getting a hand up.  The opposite of stopping/jumping only to let the QB pump fake and do something else.

Buford has been pretty good.  But this was a bad sequence.

This drop also turned out to be huge.

Seems like Hartzog needs to be out on this guy.  Buford obviously has the underneath zone (though I'm not sure why he didn't drop more when no one shows).  So Hartzog has to have the deep outside.  He's slow getting there and it costs us.

"From my angle, he was inbounds."

I don’t understand how the refs review this for 2 minutes and still somehow end up missing this obvious call…

The big boards at Memorial were easy enough for us fans to see him in bounds
Obvious is a stretch from my perspective. Watching from home, I never saw a clear angle that would qualify as irrefutable video evidence to overturn the call on the field. I'm not sure if you guys had a different angle than we did, so if you did that would definitely change things, but from the broadcast it very much seemed like a situation where the call on the field was going to stand. And I'm pretty sure that's how the refs phrased it, too - the call would stand, not be confirmed.

I think where we are in current Husker history is we need to take the W and move on.  I guess I finally trust a coach enough to hope he will the fix things illin' us.

We honestly only have 1 game ahead of us we can't win, Ohio State.  All others, we could.  Not saying we will fo 11-1.  We won't, but we are good enough we could win many more games.  We need to just get a little better every day.

Vanderbilt beat Alabama. Like Kevin Garnett, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

I’ve said this since the start of the season I’m still saying it today. There isn’t a single game on the schedule, except for Ohio State, that we SHOULD lose. If we bring the defense and the offense plays competently….and special teams doesn’t ruin it for us. Ohio State, who knows. We have played them close often with worse teams and worse coaches.

I don’t know how a Husker fan can’t be happy right now. I get offering critiques and finding flaws, and there are plenty of them, but to not enjoy this season so far is a real missed opportunity for a lot of Husker fans. 5-1 with our only loss to a ranked team in OT? Come on, friends.
