Well, yeah. Government workers, especially in DC, hold college degrees.

Government employees without degrees likely vote for Trump at similar rates as non Government employees.

I think you're conflating government employees = Democrat with College Degree = Democrat.
I’m talking specific to government workers in DC.

Again, I remain fascinated by your journey from the Green Party to a party the precise opposite of that.

What is it about the two women you felt obligated to vote against that made them exceptions?
The fact that you define people by their gender rather than their ability or character makes you the worst kind of Democrat, precisely why your side lost.

Hillary Clinton - The most evil US politician ever.
Kamala Harris - The most incompetent US politician ever.

The candidates for most evil/incompetent U.S. politician would have to include Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, Ulysses S. Grant, Warren G. Harding, Richard Nixon, Strom Thurmond, Joe McCarthy, Roman Hruska, George Wallace, Lester Maddox, Jesse Helms, d!(k Cheney, Edwin Edwards, Paul Gosar, Louie Gohmert, Mitch McConnell, Ted Cruz, Bob Menendez, Ray Hagin, Josh Hawley, Bill DeBlasio, Eric Adams, Tommy Tuberville, Roy Moore, and Donald Trump right up there at the top. So I'm wondering what exactly these two women did in your mind to surpass all those gentlemen.

Also, still curious how and when you went from Green Party to Deep Red.

Grant is arguably the least evil one (president) of all time.   Maybe not the most competent one, but he was the first civil rights president, got black men the vote, destroyed the first wave of the KKK, founded the first national park in the world.  He did some stuff.  He was a major president in American history.  Teddy Roosevelt considered him among the best.  Lost Cause propaganda did a number on his reputation.   He was taken advantage of, and there was a lot of corruption in his administration, but he wasn't corrupt.

Agree 100%. His reputation has been going through a reconstruction (pun intended) of late with some well done scholarly books being written about him.  My respect for him has gone up considerably. TR said he was one of the 4 giants up to TR’s time- Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Grant.

For the "What did the Democrats do wrong" discussion. Perhaps nothing.

Grant also wrote one of the greatest autobiographies of a political figure in history, profound in its honesty. Definitely not evil, but he did oversee a mess of an administration that many consider worse than the private use of an email server or issuing vague policy statements.

And he wrote it while fighting cancer - I think he died 2 weeks after finishing it.  It is probably what kept him going.

Yeah, elections in the US were the closest of any of them. Harris was destined to lose because the public hates price increases. This result was baked in years ago.

The lesson for politicians is: the public would rather endure massive unemployment rather than have prices increase.

That isn't to say that Democrats don't have soul searching to do. Republicans voters live in a dangerous media ecosystem that is disconnected from reality. It's bad for everybody that Democrats will try to create their own.

Still, my view is that Democrats got off easy. Trump is a terrible candidate and causes them to nominate candidates down the ballot that are even worse. Had the GOP not been taken over by the most idiotic political movement in history, the GOP would be sitting on a supermajority.

If I wanted to read more about him, what book would you suggest?   Thanks in advance.

Ron Chernow's biography is a good place to start.  I liked H.W. Brands' biography as well.   Grant's own autobiography was so good some people suspected Mark Twain wrote it (it was clearly in Grant's writing style, though).
