I agree with common denominators, those being boosters/former players and coaches, people in the University who are no doubt impeding forward progress. The fans are not the problem however, that is just silly. The only thing the fans are guilty of is providing too much support, and not being willing to walk away form this constant failure. Every fanbase has loud/annoying/constantly unhappy fans, just go read Ohio State or Alabama boards right now. Schools succeed despite negative fans.And I know it wasn't popular at the time, and still isn't. But this is the mentality that I think of, when I say that certain parts of the Husker fan base are not helping this program get any better. If it hasn't gotten better over 3-4 coaching staffs, and countless administrations and players. At some point, we have to look at the common denominators to everything. One of those things being the fans. Not all of them, just a very vocal minority.
Take away the fan support from this program and see what happens. We would be absolutely done at that point removing the last good thing about this program.
