Parkas for one game!I wonder what Tom's bowl record would have been if we had played some of those bowl games at Nebraska???
Notre Dame, I guess. I've already seen Ohio State and Texas win it. I'd prefer to never see Penn State win it.
It's interesting all four of these teams would have been left out of a four team playoff.
It was almost a 50/50 split... and I'm guessing your pessimistic assumptions aren't held by the majority of the 22 that voted we would not. We just made it to our first bowl game in 8 years. There is middle ground between making a low level bowl and playing in the playoff.Interesting but also realistic based on our previous performance, that most voters believe Nebraska WILL NOT be in the playoffs during the next 3 years. We could draw some assumptions from that:
1. we (majority) don't believe Rhule can get us into the top 12 (and potentially top 16) during the next 3 years.
2. DR may not play out to being that elite QB we hoped he would be or HCMR wasn't able to recruit via portal or HS enough "Joes" to put around him.
3. After 3 more years, the wheels fall off and we start the coaching carousal once again after 5 years of HCMR (I hope not :bang ).
4. Nebraska just falls into the 'Bo' quagmire - good enough to win most of the games but not good enough to win anything significant. Like Iowa, old Wisconsin, PSU before this year (of course this would still be an upgrade over the past 10 years -- but is it good enough??).
BTW: who voted that Texas would win the NC? :hookerhorns
I voted we would not be in the CFP in the next 3 years because I don't think we will win the BIG or make the CCG in the next 3 years, meaning that we could be ranked in the top 12 and still miss out due to conference champ getting a bid over us. It had nothing to due with HCMR or a lack of faith in him. Unless rules change and they up it to 16 teams, I think it is going to take a few years of being a consistent top 25 team for us to be ranked high enough to get in without being a conference champ.Interesting but also realistic based on our previous performance, that most voters believe Nebraska WILL NOT be in the playoffs during the next 3 years. My assumptions may have been pessimistic in regards to the no vote but I vote yes - so that makes me an optimistI'm guessing your pessimistic assumptions aren't held by the majority of the 22
Lol there is a lot of truth to that, more than you might know. Unless you know me.Not a true Husker fan![]()
