To be fair, I hate Trump as much as the rest of any of use (probably more), but I'm pretty sure that top quote is his typical made-up BS akin to all the big strong men who run up to him with tears in their eyes to tell him how amazing he is. Thus I doubt that actual quote is accurate but rather typical Trump exaggeration.

That said, it doesn't really matter. What he's doing with the military is unprecedentedly terrible and at this point we just have to hope enough of the chain of command tell any of stoolies he manages to appoint to pound sand when Trump tries to feed them illegal orders.

I'm actually reasonably optimistic that with the way the military is trained the majority will tell COs to f#&% off if Trump tries to illegally weaponize the military against his opponents. We'd better hope a majority aren't true believers. If they are we're in for a real rough time.
