So, let me get this straight.  Putin was thrown out of the G8 because the rest of the world was pissed that he invaded Crimea.  Trump is his lap dog and talks to him and thinks everyone is being mean to Putin.  Meanwhile, Trump claims that he never would have invaded Crimea if he were President because he would have been tougher on Putin.

So, now Trump is Putin's negotiator at the G7 meeting trying to get people to not be so mean to him.


Trump claims to be this big tough negotiator with Putin....but refuses to put sanctions on him while he's "talking to him".  Meanwhile, Trump is more than willing to put sanctions on Iran (and help Israel bomb them) while negotiating with them.

Something I find funny with this comment, is a few others on this board (I think even you) have posted in others threads, comments to the effect of “what did we expect, he campaigned on what he is doing” 

I agree though that The Middle East has blown up again though, similar to some Biden era skirmishes And Ukraine/Russia seems to be the same s#!tstorm as the past few years.

I think we're reacting to the hyperbolic expectations Trump created himself and may have won him the election. Of course we expected him to maintain at least lip service on his promises, but I'm wondering when Republicans will admit he's totally full of s#!t

• None of these wars would have happened if I was President

• I can put an end to the Russia/Ukraine War in 24 hours

• The American economy under Biden was utterly failing and I alone can fix it

• I know how to solve the immigration crisis

• I will regain the global respect that was completely lost under Biden

There's also the fact that he tried to distance himself from Project 2025 and we all warned that he was up to his neck in support of it.  Ironically, he used the same weak denials of knowing anything about it just like his most ardent and least productive supporters.   He didn't campaign on Project 2025 but we all knew what was coming.

Objectively, none of those are true or look to become true. But they’re definitely the campaign promises of a lifelong narcissist who has been elevated to cult leader status at this point.
 

I’m sure they all sound great to a lot of people with far too many willing to suspend disbelief and hope for the best.

Unfortunately there will be no serious introspection on the part of the vast majority of his supporters. Plenty of goalpost shifting, whataboutism, etc., sure. But thinking critically about whether they might be being lied to and taken for a ride is not their strong suit.

Donald Trump might be a s#!t stain on American history, enabled by an equally embarrassing electorate of super massive morons that enables him.

But beneath all the global unrest, we should find comfort that an elderly egomaniac, idiot, grifting and cartoonishly corrupt moron with a sub 90 IQ really stuck it to the few dozen Trans kids playing high school sports.
