Harper Murray Post

There can't be a 'debate' because the people mad at her are mad because of something they imagined, not something she actually said, or did.

And if we're going to waste this much gas on something Harper Murray didn't actually say, where's the equivalent for what the orange cheeto has actually said while occupying our White House?

If you think Harper Murray not saying something is a 'problem,' I can't wait to get your input in P&R about the White House guy.
Yikes. Ok man

As I said in my initial post, I was not sure which forum this belonged as it was specific to Husker players but also was about a political topic. The day she posted this was a day when many tiktoks were going viral celebrating Kirks assassination. Her word choice in her posts suggests she agreed with those tiktoks but could not share her opinion because her Nebraska fan base would disagree with her views.

Also, when Allick made a post supporting Kirk, there were many replies opposing Allick and Murray likes those opposing views. Thats the quick summary I found.

Hasn't @Mavric already answered whether Harper's tiktok is political? He's been posting in this thread for hours.

If her titktok was political, he'd have moved this to P&R.

Fair enough. I posted in here as I felt it was applicable to the Husker players and team. Whether you call it a political post or view it as humane or inhumane, I think the sentiment of it still stands and it appears to be bad taste at best. And if it was not true I would also expect Harper to come out and clearly distance herself from such a position.

How does she distance herself from a position she has not actually stated?

We can read between the lines about how she may feel but that’s just conjecture. And surely you don’t want her to make a statement she doesn’t actually believe in just to placate people’s suspicions. Seems to me she is in a no win position with Kirk/far-right supporters……all because she said she wasn’t going to say anything because people wouldn’t like it. Kind of a crazy thing to keep pushing for if you ask me.

A person can imply or infer their feelings without spelling it out. Just like an emoji can indicate sentiment without explicitly stating one's position word for word. She obviously wanted some attention or she would not have made her post or liked oppostion to Allicks posts.

And so what? Not everyone needs to make a show of missing Kirk or what he stood for or the positions he espoused. The guy vocalized quite a few extreme positions and beliefs. She wasn’t celebrating his murder. She wasn’t calling for more political violence, unlike how many on the right have done in the wake of this tragedy.

Of course it would be best if all our athletes steered way clear of these things but they are people with opinions and feelings just like everyone else. I’ve still seen absolutely nothing deserving of the blowback she is receiving from some corners. People calling for her to be kicked off the team need to check themselves.
