Harper Murray Post

So it is ok for Rebekah to outspoken despite having teammates who may not agree with her, but not for other teammates to voice their own contrary opinion? Is Rebekah not being supportive and considerate of her teammates?
Difference of opinion is perfectly fine. As far as I know, Rebekah wasn't condoning Kirk's political stances, but was mourning his loss as a father/husband/son and being an outspoken Christian. The handful of negative commenters could not separate the human from the politics. The problem is that Harper wasn't exactly expressing an opinion, but instead liking the comments from others who are going after her teammate. Though it may be trivial and not that serious, this generation has proven to take social media very seriously (ie. Harper after the National title match two seasons ago).

This is a haphazard response but I’ll bite.

Harper doesn’t have to agree with Rebekah and should stick to her beliefs. If you’re passionate about a topic, voice it however you please. The difference is publicly liking comments that go against what your teammate posted. If it were me and I represented such a prestigious volleyball school that garnered me a massive following, I’d approach my teammate and talk about it one on one, outside of the public scope.

Harper deleted her “but I live in Nebraska” story for a reason. Off topic but look at Instagram follow counts of some of the best players in the country. Brooklyn Deleye and Olivia Babcock, who I feel are the top two players in the country, have a combined 25k followers. Keri Leimbach has 36k followers… Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
