Nebraska wins The Battle for NU! What did we learn????

Missed 2nd half.
We won.
Locked a bowl game up. Progress for sure.
We are lacking some talent. Still unsure if talent or coaching. Possibly both. Can't get blood from a turnip.
Be interesting to see Vegas odds of PSU next HC after this weekend.
I said in game thread, I wonder what we look like year 3 with better OL/DL play.
We won. Ugly, but a win.
With all the complaints about officiating, Rhule needs to get with Freeze and find out how to file complaint to get B1G refs permanently suspended for crap calls.

These refs sucked.
We needed a game-winning drive and we got it.
This O Line played much better. We may have something here.
Maybe play calling to mitigate their suckiness? Rhule and co seemed to have had “real talk conversations”. Everything seemed a bit less fancier and dancier.

EJ knows football. Got critical first downs.
The KO TD was huge.
OL was serviceable and still needs a lot of work.
Raiola was ok, I’d like Lateef to get a series each half to threaten the run more.
The DL keeps these average teams close. We can’t TFL or sack so drives are sustained. I didn’t see any playmakers on Minny or NW offenses yet Minny beats us and NW was close.
USC has all sorts of playmakers and I don’t expect a close game.

Oh and the refs were a complete dumpster fire 🔥.

I think that ref was conveniently retiring anyway.

Nebraska's results with the Big Ten refs since we joined the conference has been...let's just say...an experience. The Big Ten money is great, but today's refs were absolutely horrible. Moving on.

  • An ugly win is always better than a loss.
  • We are going to back-to-back bowl games for the first time since 2015-2016!
  • We won 28-21. That kickoff return TD was huge. Mike Ekeler has earned a raise!
  • The coaches got the message last week and commited to the running game. Now it just needs some more variety. Maybe some more gap-schemes and some lead-blocker formations.
  • Keep designing some play-action bootlegs for Dylan. He seems much more comfortable on rollouts.
  • Defense needs to find some way to get more pressure on the quarterback.
  • Next week's night game with a blackout could be as loud as the Nebraska-Colorado game last season.
  • This team showed fight and resilience this week. Right now that's all we can ask for. Go Big Red!

LOL. That ain't it.

The women weren't the ones blowing those calls. The worst were the line judges, who were screwing Nebraska over on spotting the ball consistently. The line judge also blew the catch out of bounds on NW's last scoring drive, the one on the far sideline.
It’s a lack of overall talent that brings the whole group down.

There are a disturbing amount of Husker fans out there that are genuinely upset about winning this game

I think it's more about the way we are winning games. We still can't stop the run and our o-line remains atrocious. Even though we won, some fans probably feel sick to their stomach because of what the Huskers put us through. Not to mention the play calling...
