Nebraska wins The Battle for NU! What did we learn????

Emmet Johnson is special. Best RB we've had in the last 10 years. This isn't an opinion, it's simply fact.
I am concerned if we do not improve OL play, dude might hit the portal. And seeing as he is RB1-3, that will be horrible for NU. lack of talent behind him or coaching at that spot? Simply put, EJ is a DUDE.

Our passing game is a f****** joke. We had 6.4 yards per pass. Terrible.

Yeah, Johnson had 27 carries and was a workhorse. And yeah Raiola led another game-winning drive.

But offensively we’re totally a**.

And to be honest I don’t understand how Northwestern came into this game 5-2. They’re awful.

Haven’t really been this pi**ed after a win in a long time. The way Raiola takes sacks or overthrows deep balls to kill a series is becoming too much to stomach.

I know that I’m clueless as to the behind-the-scenes working of the coaching paradigm for us, but Rhule needs to start leading from the front.

He needs to sit down with both Raiola and Holgorsen this week and let them know that they currently both suck and that we’re going to do something different so that we stop sucking.

What is happening with our scheme? Can’t our coaches see how we consistently struggle when we go empty backfield?

We can’t pass block for s***.

We'd lose this game in the Frost era and Rhule's first two years.

I'd like to see more passes ahead of the 1st down markers on 3rd downs. Don't leave it up to the ref's spotting.

Thankfully, the defense got 2 turnovers because they can't sack a QB to save their lives.

The refs were awful, but that is nothing new.

We won this game because their QB is terrible and because of a kickoff return for a touchdown.

I’m pretty concerned about whether we’ll win any of the next four.

We’ll be favored at kickoff for UCLA and we definitely should win.

But offensively we need to find a way to finish drives and get more points on the board.

Like obviously I’m much happier that we won than having lost the game. But our offense has been really concerning the past two contests.

If EJ was not as shifty and talented, most drives would end before the 50 yard line.

You’re kind of phrasing that in a negative spin, though. If anything it just shows he should be used more.

Probably should have been leaned on way more against Minnesota instead of just standing back deep and taking nine sacks.

Or requiring the receiver to break a tackle. I too noticed they couldn't seem to run a 3rd down route beyond the sticks.

They can't see that or how when EJ (or any RB) is deep and Dylan immediately drops back with the ball out for a handout the whole DL simply crashes....Dana might have been a genius, but I do not see it now.

IMHO I would analyze the following coaches:
Satt-Lindenmeyer is often an after thought. Where is Carter?
Butler-Base 3-3-5 w/out the horses. IIRC, leads or close to the nation for giving up big plays. Maybe if he could run his D and not Rhules. I mean his seocndary in Buffalo was legit for years.
Dana-Not impressed
Donnie-4 years and OL is complete dumpster fire. That block by Teddy summed it all up (hate he got hurt)
Shorts-Keeper
Barthel-Who else behind EJ in year 3.....
Thompson-Co-OC and QB coach-Dylan eats sacks like I eat peanut flavored M&M's, holds ball too long, Dana doesn't help him. Plus Dylan has private QB coach. Dylan is good regardless of who is QB coach. Yaer 1-2 under Rhule....oof at the QB spot.
Bradden-DL is horrible. And no sign of improvement. Square peg hole (same wth Butler and Rhule) 1st season. BUT, he is coaching what he has. Pass
Dvoracek/Simpson- can't judge this season. LB's getting OL in their face because of poor DL play. Tackling/angles an issue
Williams/DiMichelle-DB's seem solid
Ekler-keeper

Just frustrated and bitching, but wanted other folks take on the staff as a whole. I just think to get back to where we/they want to be we need an infusion of coaching talent as well.
