So I guess that Mavric is ok with members attacking others for stating their opinion as long as Mavric hates that person. Using B$%# and moan is very professional and not at all worthy of a warning. I have been watching Husker football all my life and I know when we have a good team and when we don’t. I say it as I see it. I don’t sugarcoat it. Yes, we won. Yes, it was great. Yes, we are bowl eligible. And yes, we are still irrelevant. If you were to ask any media expert if they think that we can beat a 6-2 Texas, how many will say we can? The next four weeks will let us know where we stand. If we end up 7-5, will you call this progress? We don’t scare anyone anymore. Do you want me to fart rainbows? I will for your sake my friend.

It isn't about "farting rainbows," though that sounds like a fascinating skill...

The way you're positioning your arguments here just isn't being done in good faith. It started with pre-emptive victimhood and identity framing (as if your takes are the objective truth and everyone else is just deluded) followed up by a lot of provocative absolutes that nobody can really argue back against because it just becomes a pissing contest over how one defines blanket terms like "good" or "bad." Looks like you wanted your posts to be more aligned with martyrdom than any genuine football discussion.

Nebraska is 6-2. They've beaten teams of similar quality to themselves. They're definitely not a CFP contender. The way I look at it though, after how crap this program has been for the last decade+, I think most people would much rather focus on being 6-2 than get beaten down by projected realism and provocation. But everybody already knows that you're only as good as your next game. 6-2 doesn't matter next week, only next week's game matters.
 
You have to look at it perspective. Compare this team to latter-era Frost.... it's a night and day difference.

Yeah it's not the 90s.... those days aren't coming back.
 
I hope we don’t have to rely on a kickoff return for a TD to win. I hope we don’t have rely on no-calls by terrible refs to win. I hope we don’t have to rely on a not very good team to not be so good to win. I hope we don’t have to rely on converting several 3rd and longs to win.
I hope we don’t have to overcome our own mistakes and dumbass failures to win.

I’m soooo happy we won and we are at 6-2. That’s fantastic. But if we have to “hope” and “overcome” all of our own problems we will not compete weekly against top 25 programs. We should win these types of games like 31-14 and move on.
Instead we all nit-pick everything because we could just have easily just lost this game…but we didn’t so that’s good.
We are winning, but we all know we could win a little better, or we could lose just as easily.
 
I learned Ekeler might be the difference between winning and losing close games. Holgo needs to find the right balance between leading the way with EJ getting the most touches but not overused to the point of injury. The margin will be small between a loss and victory the rest of the way. Focus and execution and luck with health will get them to a better bowl and more national attention. I also learned with Iowa beating the doors off of Minnesota that last week was even more disappointing.
 
I liked the more use of the running game and short passing game. I do wish more of the passes were not the the dump off 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage types and on 3rd down we need more passes past the line to gain. I feel like better tackling teams will make us pay and we did pay some with the referee spots. There has got to be some better short passing plays we can mix in there. Why are WRs even running routes short of the first down on 3rd downs?

Taking out sack yardage, against the Gophers we rushed for 70 yards. Johnson got 14 carries in that game.

Today, Johnson gets 27 carries and we rushed for 155 yards.

Not shocking at all that leaning on the run game helps get us a win in another ugly conference matchup. I think coaching was a big problem in the Minnesota game and it's frustrating.

After his weekly gift to a LB just sitting in a zone read. The easiest play a dude in the middle can make on a pass play. Raiola also fumbled the ball trying real hard to gain some yds.
I’ll give Raiola his props, he def is a great QB for us. But he also has become a turnover machine. Not only his weekly gift to a LB, now he is fumbling when he runs.
I like his late game heroics but he wouldn’t have to do that if he, himself, didn’t turn the ball over 2-3 times a game. It’s become standard.
He’s only a Soph and we are winning w him. So I’ll digress. But he makes it hard on the whole team when he turns the ball over.

I think Dylan is going to be an All Pro, but it will take a few years. He has the right attitude and can make the right decisions. He will just take more seasoning to eliminate the mistakes.
 
i learned that since we are not a perfect team the "realistic" fans are supposed to b!^@h and moan about how much everyone and everything about the team sucks even when they win. thanks team doom and gloom members for letting me know that. i will strive to be more pessimistic in the future thanks to your teaching.

IMHO I would analyze the following coaches:
Satt-Lindenmeyer is often an after thought. Where is Carter?
Butler-Base 3-3-5 w/out the horses. IIRC, leads or close to the nation for giving up big plays. Maybe if he could run his D and not Rhules. I mean his seocndary in Buffalo was legit for years.
Dana-Not impressed
Donnie-4 years and OL is complete dumpster fire. That block by Teddy summed it all up (hate he got hurt)
Shorts-Keeper
Barthel-Who else behind EJ in year 3.....
Thompson-Co-OC and QB coach-Dylan eats sacks like I eat peanut flavored M&M's, holds ball too long, Dana doesn't help him. Plus Dylan has private QB coach. Dylan is good regardless of who is QB coach. Yaer 1-2 under Rhule....oof at the QB spot.
Bradden-DL is horrible. And no sign of improvement. Square peg hole (same wth Butler and Rhule) 1st season. BUT, he is coaching what he has. Pass
Dvoracek/Simpson- can't judge this season. LB's getting OL in their face because of poor DL play. Tackling/angles an issue
Williams/DiMichelle-DB's seem solid
Ekler-keeper

Just frustrated and bitching, but wanted other folks take on the staff as a whole. I just think to get back to where we/they want to be we need an infusion of coaching talent as well.

I think what you are really saying is that Rhule to PSU wouldn’t be a bad thing- time for a new coach and staff

Your last sentence is most concerning. Iowa dominated a team that dominated us the week before. It just reinforces that Nebraska can beat more finesse teams but teams who focus on toughness in the trenches will be a struggle.
 
What did I learn?
That people confuse opinions with facts. And thus there is no such thing as (debate) because both parties must be capable of identifying and accepting objective reality before a debate can take place.

Outside of losing Ekeler, I'd be okay with this. My biggest concern is that this isn't the year for NU to replace its head coach considering the amount of competition for coaches this offseason, and the list of openings will only continue to grow.
