Huskers to Face Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl

Bc Matt Rhule has done nothing to warrant an extension and we has fans have to hold out hope that the coaches don't trip over themselves in the process. I don't have faith that he can get us back to constantly winning or even be a contender. This year was so easy for 9 wins and bc he and his coaches aren't great developers or recruiters our o-line sucked and d-line sucked and we as fans have to sit here and wish and dream.
To all who are challenging this post, come back in a year...everything stated here is true and will be evident to the fans with blinders next year. Money and changing coaches didn't solve Scott's problems and they won't solve Rhule's

I guess it's my bad for not specifying "at the same school", but Snyder fully accepted as a great example. Only trouble is, he's one of the top 10 best coaches of all time.

Did anyone think Pelini was in the echelon of all time greats? If they did, I don't trust their judgment towards anything, if they didn't, then they're in the same camp as me that seven years (especially at a blue blood) is beyond enough time for the data to tell us clearly who you are. He was trending downwards, or at best, showed us his ceiling in year one and year seven.
I don’t disagree with your Pelini assessment. I was just giving a few examples of what you asked for.

I’ll come back now.

The post isn’t “true”. It can’t be, it’s an opinion…a personal interpretation. Even if it turns out to be a correct prediction, that wouldn’t make it “true”.

“…will be evident”
FFS, do people even read some of the slop they type out?

I'm kind of with ya on the semantics of your response there. But the "his coaches aren't great developers or recruiters our o-line sucked and d-line sucked" from Huskerfollower4life's post edges away from opinion into observable fact as we watched the season unfold. Those O trenches.. not too good for any quarterback, let alone a hesitant wannabe.. and the D, no rush to speak of.

What just consistently amazes me is how much discussion and scrutiny our offense has gotten this year all while our defense was absolutely terrible.

I want to see something different on defense for this bowl game on that side of the ball.

I’d love to believe that the linebacker room got screamed at and challenged and the guys that start at LB in this one are the ones who showed some fire over the past month.

And I’d REALLY like to try to get some pressure from blitzing.

I hope he can help out. Sounds like hired now with future to be determined. I couldn't find anything about his career post NFL in 2012. No idea coaching experience.

Nice comment from Cam.
“When you have somebody who’s done it and lived that life, it’s a little different than some coaching styles are,” Lenhardt said. “He’s been in your shoes and knows what it takes. A lot of it is up here (points to head). It’s that mental aspect of the game rather than always X’s and O’s. It’s that mental part. That’s why I like him a lot.”
Agreed

Maybe the rest of the story is thats why we haven’t heard anything new on a DL position coach.

Some things do need more time. Wine, cheese, Tom Osborne…

Is Jason Beck(OC) not going to finish out the season with the Utes and leaving right away to go to Michigan? I know that would probably help our chances to win but I don't know how significant of a loss he is bc our defense is bad.

My oldest daughter and family live here in Las Vegas. All of my kids and spouses are all hitting the strip tonight. We are watching the grandkids. I said make sure to get pictures. Of the flowers? My son said, I said no, of any Huskers you see!

Sounds like Huskers are practicing at Bishop Gorman. I think Utah is practicing where my daughter and son-in-law teach, Faith Lutheran.

Any idea where the team is staying? I would think the strip would be a bad decision waiting to happen for a bunch of 18-23 year olds.
