Didn’t read any replies on this thread so forgive me if I’m wrong or repeating anything anyone else has said.
We got completely out-coached on defense v their offense around the 9min mark of the 2nd qtr until the end of the game.
They hit their TE and check downs all over the field, 2nd option, and intermediate receiverrs against us at will…Ran it against us when they needed/wanted to and went long to show off.
Their players flexed on us all day. And we had a “llimp-off-line” of dudes who got hurt, had a TV timeout for, left the game, or left on TV laying around on the field. We are a…sad to say, SOFT ASSED pu&&y program.
Which leads me to:
we are not a decent/mid B1G team. We are the team that other programs play against and expect to win against us. Maybe make a bowl and be on tv.
When I watch mid/decent bowl games and all the way up to CFP games, I realize there is a STRIKING difference between what we have and what 14-21 ranked teams have:
1: scheme/alignment (we are so out leveraged)
2. players
3. coaching
4. tenacity
5. talent
6. straight up mfer’ing ballers
7. A giant stick up Nebraska’s a$$.
Fix 7 and the rest will follow. Gosh darn we are not a good team and we haven’t been since since Suh was here, let’s be honest.
Until we get a coach/ leader who the players respect as man, and abides by that high and greatest of standards….we will never be “back.”
Not Sad to say, but I’m speaking the truth.
Nebraska has a tough, hard nosed, disciplined, loyal, and methodical/ natural way of life. But the football team has dropped that identity for what l?
If we could get a guy in here to teach a power running based offense with multiple formations that uses traps and counters to keep the defense honest while employing a play action pass game mixed with quick reads and roll-outs…
If we hit the other team real hard and they stop us so be it.
If they try and hit us…we should win that fight, most times.
If they defeat us, good for them.
I’d rather be tough AF and lose than be a WTH are we.
Being tough AF will win us more games than following and new trend
