2025-2026 Portal Updates

Do you look at the lists of the players available in the portal, and the rankings, and the visitor list? Just curious.

Yes definitely. At the end of the day it's about results and being more competitive. This staff needs to make a huge leap in landing better talent AND developing that talent for this upcoming season. If the new DC can maximize the talent we get that would be a game changer.

and penn state is number 1 with 38 commits...all 3 stars
The Penn State thing is interesting. Oregon broke them. They are now acquiring 3-star players (previously had 4- and 5-star players) with a coach who is skilled at turning a struggling program into a good one. (I like Matt Campbell) Can he take an above-average program to the next level? This was a risk for them.

I hate it that he left ISU and is taking all their players. I was enjoying watching them have success.

most of those 38 are iowa state transfers

Ok, here is where the Cignetti effect comes in- I personally don't think that can be duplicated- Campbell is bringing ISU level players to PSU and more than likely they will play like ISU players- good but not great and not to the standard that the Pedophiles are used to. Once they get a look @ the typical Campbell recruits, they will immediately have buyers' remorse and they will lose to every top tier program they play.

The Cignetti effect caveat- I thought this EXACT same thing would happen with dragging JMU players to IU and boy was I wrong. I do not think that Matt Campbell is on an even field with Cignetti however.

GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oregon broke them. I really don't think they were a bad team. If McSorley doesn't get hurt, and they get their crap together? They are find. They just wanted an excuse to fire Franklin because he is an bad guy.
