I’m not really trying to argue, but while agree that he is the best assistant on the staff as a special teams coordinator, we don’t know that that is true about him coaching special teams and linebackers. If what he wants is to coach linebackers, do you pull the trigger and fire Dvoracek and possible Simpson to keep him happy?Ekeler is the best assistant coach on this staff. You give him whatever he wants. Unfortunately, he may just want to win at a higher level.
Very true but is Matt Rhule capable of finding a great special teams coach that has Ekeler's pedigree and results this late in the game I doubt it. Matt Rhule struggled to find a d-tackle coach this year.I'm not exactly Rhule's biggest fan but what else can you do but offer him the best contract in the country and hope he stays? If he leaves that sucks but there are other coaches out there that are good, they don't have to be from nebraska.

Josh Martin would be promoted. He already said he'd promote from within and continue running the system Ekeler taught them.
I don't see why he couldn't help out or do more there. I would absolutely move one of them for Ekeler.I’m not really trying to argue, but while agree that he is the best assistant on the staff as a special teams coordinator, we don’t know that that is true about him coaching special teams and linebackers. This is the way.Let him help coach LB’s?
Thought he had come here originally to be closer to family. Maybe those circumstances have changed? Then why did he leave a Tennessee team coming off of a playoff appearance to come here? I'm sure he has his priorities and reasons and none of them are my business, but his coaching career as a whole is just a series of head scratching moves mixed with some obvious ones.
He is the one who brought him here last year, right? That would seem to prove his capability to me.Very true but is Matt Rhule capable of finding a great special teams coach...
Will Compton was the one who basically brought him here. Matt hasn't exactly made the best hires. I think this is a valid assessment. He is the one who brought him here last year, right? That would seem to prove his capability to me.
