Walk-on
Just thought I'd drop by on this Sunday morning before church to say hey. I've been lurking for a while on this board since they announced the Gator Bowl. Of course I am really looking forward to the game and I wish I could go but my teacher's salary doesn't give me a lot of options right now. I've always liked Nebraska and I've heard from other teams that y'all have awesome fans. We played Texas A&M a few years ago in a home and home and they were heaping praise on Nebraska fans also.
I know that the whole state lives and breathes Nebraska football as somebody mentioned below. My dad had an Air Force buddy out in Omaha during the 1981 season who said that if Clemson beat Nebraska in the Orange Bowl then it would just kill the fans (I was less than a year old then so I don't remember it). And I remember watching Nebraska games in the 80s and 90s and in the rare losses, the cameras would focus on fans and little kids would be crying.
Now I'm not saying this to get y'all upset. All these things generated a huge amount of respect from me for Nebraska since it is that important. I don't think that there is a state anywhere in the country that has such a strong support for one team. Other schools have strong support but the state populations are divided between at least two schools (Clemson and South Carolina, Alabama and Auburn, etc.). I've always liked Nebraska for that reason among others.
I hope it's a great game in a couple weeks with no injuries and good sportsmanship all around. Y'all have a great Sunday.
